Fixed Bridges Gallery
Fixed bridges can be used to replace missing teeth. There are indications and contraindications for this type of treatment. It should not be the first choice for replacing missing teeth.
Indications for this type of restoration include replacing an existing fixed bridge where the anchor teeth are sound and can continue to take load. They can also be used to replace missing teeth when the adjacent teeth are in need of full coverage restorations and sound enough to take on the extra load. They may be indicated in cases where inadequate bone prevents implant placement or where bone augmentation procedures are deemed too complicated or too risky.
When used they should be designed to create the illusion of independent teeth emerging from the gingiva. The use of tissue sculpting techniques, when done properly can achieve this illusion.
